Rated 90 Points Robert Parker
A strong effort from La Mission, the 1979 retains its healthy dark ruby/purple color. It offers a spicy, mineral, and cassis-scented bouquet, medium to full body, ripe, concentrated, muscular flavors, and a long finish. While drinking well, the complexity and huge, penetrating fragrance of a top Graves have yet to emerge. I would opt for drinking it over the next 15-20 years.
Notes
The fill is very top shoulder.
